I'm just an ordinary person who loves life, fun, reading, visiting music shops and having intimate time with family and close friends. The Church is my life in a major sense. But what I love most about the Church are the times of beautiful worship, filled with magnificent singing, not just choral, but congregational also. My greatest desire in ministry is that people come to love God with all their heart, mind, body and spirit, despite the challenges, hurdles and times of extreme darkness we often face. I try to live with gratitude every day, even in the midst of stress and difficulties. Every day is God's gift to me and I try with all my strength to live with gratitude. My daily refrain is, "Thank you Jesus!"

I have spent most of my ministry teaching and pastoring in secondary and tertiary education. This has continued in retirement and I now find myself mentoring young church leaders.

I was the first rector of a new Pietermaritzburg parish, Hayfields, and later the first bishop of a new diocese, St. Mark the Evangelist (Limpopo province). My passion is preaching and mission.

I am married to Charmian and in my spare time am an avid birder and hiker. If I had a dislike it would probably be for electronic social media.

I was born and raised in Westville, KwaZulu Natal. I am married to Liz and have two married sons (in London and Somerset West) and four local grandchildren. I am a retired Consulting Civil Engineer and moved to Somerset West in 2017.

I served as Community Clergy in St John’s (Pinetown), St Elizabeth’s (Westville) and All Saints (Bellair) from 1998.

I enjoy the outdoors in my 4x4 (rigged for camping) and am particularly interested in geology and palaeontology. My hobbies, since childhood are photography and philately.

My husband, Ian, and I were both born and raised in Cape Town. I trained at Groote Schuur Hospital as a Nursing Sister. We left Cape Town in 1996 as Ian had been transferred to KwaZulu Natal.

We have three children; Jonathan in Durban, Ruth in Johannesburg and David in Malta. And we have 2 grandchildren in Durban.

Before our arrival in Somerset West, I served as a Community Priest in the Parish of Richmond in KwaZulu Natal.

Ian and I both enjoy entertaining and meeting new people. We love to travel within and outside of South Africa.
